The good news never stops…

I’ve been carrying on with the development of Open Invaders today. While there’s no new amazing features to report on, there is the good news that I’ve managed to sort out of the most annoying bugs that was beginning to drive me up the wall. I’m specifically talking about the jumping fade bug, where when the player loses a life, the screen fades out, fades in, and then everything jumps a few pixels.

I knew what was causing this - the interrupt was continuing to play in the background, processing enemy and projectile movements and accepting input from the player, but every time I tried to terminate it, it made no difference. Now I’ve restructured everything properly, it seems to have worked this time. As you can imagine, I’m overjoyed about this.

With most of the main problems with the game now put to one side, I hope I can concentrate on getting more features into the game for a 0.1 beta release within the next couple of weeks (unless I have the good fortune to finally find some work, in which case it may take a little longer :) )
