A roadmap for Open Invaders

Well, 0.08 of Open Invaders has finally been completely rolled out, and now it’s time to take a look to see how it goes on from here. Although I had a basic to-do list in the previous versions I have now replaced it with a clear plan of how development is going to carry on to the run-up to version 1.0:

0.2 is going to be concentrating on adding options so:

  • Add proper options screen (level select, difficulty select)
  • Add power-ups
  • Redefinable controls
  • Add pause function
  • 0.3 will be concentrating on adding a full-blown high-score system.

    0.4 will be focussing on adding cosmetic touches to the game.

    0.5 will be focussing on improving the graphics and animation all round.

    0.6 will involve the inclusion of a full-blown story mode.

    0.7 will feature the addition of unlockables.

    0.8 - 0.9 are still open, and will be based on feedback from users.

    And finally, the run-up to 1.0 from 0.9 will be bug fixes, for which I need volunteers to bug test.

    Of course, capable graphic artists and musicians who are willing to do the artwork and music (voluntarily, of course!) are more than welcome to get in touch :)
