Progress on games

Following up the info on my previous predicament with my hard drive, I thought I’d provide a bit of background on how the projects are progressing.
Naughts and Crosses has resumed progress ever since I’ve discovered that there’s been a substantial and surprising amount of interest in it. I’ve now added the foundations for a new title screen which can now been seen in the newest version. I’m planning on tarting up the graphics and sound a bit more, as well as adding an arcade mode which offers a series of levels based on variables such as board size, AI difficulty, who goes first etc.
Open Invaders hasn’t seen much development since I’ve been in hospital in July, but I’m hoping to carry on with it when I’m finished with Naughts and Crosses. I need to fix the routines that deal with exiting the game in a more graceful manner (under Windows in particular, the game just locks up when you press CTRL+C, but that’s Windows for you), and improve the graphics a little. I’d also like to include a little variation in the levels, perhaps by changing the backgrounds periodically.
I’m also working on the designs for a new game, Tetris Generations. Yet another Tetris, I hear you say? Well, yes, but this one will be featuring a sort of role-playing achievements mode, and different levels will feature graphical and sound styles specific to different computers in history. So, on the ZX Spectrum 48K level, you’ll see graphics like you’d expect to see on the Spectrum (including attribute clash) and beep music. On the C64 level, you’ll see typical C64 graphics and SID music, and so on and so forth.
If you’re willing to beta test any of these games, please let me know by e-mail at darryl (at) jamyskis.net or by commenting on this post so that I can inform you and send you the feedback form.
